Schools Out for Swine Flu!

(Sung to the tune of Schools Out for Summer.)

Anyone else experiencing an unplanned 2 to 7 day vacation?

Update:
All city, state and county schools in 20 mile radius, are now closed. As far as I can tell, all private schools and most daycare facilities are closed. All school activities are canceled. All high school sports activities in the state have been postponed. All children's activities are canceled. All city parks and playgrounds are closed. All children's museums are closed. Pretty much anywhere you would take a child is closed. Children are to be kept at home, they didn't say in the closet, but I think it was implied.

The parents in North Alabama will be stark raving mad by Monday.

Oh, wait a minute, the malls are open. We're good.

(Actually, K and I are having a great day. We cuddled in our jammies, watched more Phinius and Ferb than is healthy, ate Oreos and marshmallow peeps and are now going to play some Wii. Might transplant some Baby Toes and Living Rocks later. Life is good.)

Snitch Egg Cozy! Because...

I've finished my entry for the Leaky Cauldron Enchanted Egg contest!

The egg part is the body from the Bunny Egg Cozy on Lionbrand. I couldn't find a pattern for wings I liked, so I just kinda winged the wings. (Winged the Wings, get it, winged, Ha,... OK, moving on.)

I though of entering my Potter Puppet Pal Pysanky

But I kinda wanted to do something new. I'm off to enter it now!

Easter Goodies!

Another pillow for Grammie's a year of holiday pillows. Ended up making two, the first one just didn't turn out quite right. Though K says it's perfect and has squirreled it away in her room. Love her! This pillow is actually a slip cover. I made two identical 12" pillows, kept one and sent the other to Grammie with the new cover. Now I can just make covers, easier for me to ship and easier for Grammie to store.

And who doesn't need a bunny egg cozy filled with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. I followed the Lion Brand pattern and it was really easy and so cute! I didn't have the right size beads for the eyes, so I just embroidered the face. Cute!

Hope you all had a Happy Easter!
